Two Romances One Theme

DARE TO COMPARE

Two slow burn romances about childhood crushes turned into adult romances, all while fixing up a house? Two different stories.

I am one of those people that actually really enjoyed 99 Percent Mine and while recently reading Fix Her Up I kept finding little connections between the plot lines of these two books.

From the tenacious female lead that is seen as a “joke”, to the kind hearted males that start to see them differently. Both of the male leads are the brother’s best friend, making the female leads the annoying younger sisters not taken seriously.

They are both reunited after years spent apart growing into their own, and are forced into a situation where they are repairing a home, or working on themselves.

I love this romance theme of childhood crush reuniting as adults, and the fixing up a house setting, it obviously reflects the characters building up their connection together and resolving past situations.

Did anyone else find these two stories similar?

Summer Reading β˜€οΈ

It’s supposed to feel like summer here in Ontario, but for every glimpse at the sun, we get a day of rain to follow.

I’m hoping some summer reading will bring the sunshiney vibes!

I’m one of those readers that reads to fit the season. I especially like reading stories that take place in far-off destinations so it feels like I’m on a mini vacation transporting myself to the new locale.

I thought I would pick up the highly recommended Love & Gelato and read about a trip through Italy, or maybe a nice beach themed romance.

What are you reading this summer?

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

The Kiss Quotient πŸ“‰πŸ’™

Happy Autism Awareness Day!

β€œ29 year old Stella has Asperger’s and makes sense of her life using math, but she struggles to handle dating and the intimacy she feels it requires. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice, with a professional. She hires the perfect male escort who teaches her that love is the best kind of logic”

.

I adored this book from start to finish! I now understand the well deserved hype behind it. Both the characters are so lovable, from sweet and determined Stella to kind, understanding Michael. They each have their troubles but they figure it out together. Plus there are some awesome sex scenes that are suuuuuper steamy! 9/10 πŸ’™

Make Something Good Today by Erin and Ben Napier

THESE TWO!!!! Make Something Good Today by Ben and Erin Napier, is absolutely a romance with not only each other but a love affair with creativity. These two know how to take note of life’s little moments and celebrate them. I may be biased in that I’m a huge fan of them from their hit @hgtv show Home Town, but this book is basically a continuation of how inspiring they are on television. The back story of how they met is certifiably adorable. Reading this makes you want to get up and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on. 8/10.
