A story of a woman scorned. Newly engaged couple Gabe and Molly are young and in love living in NYC when Gabe’s novel takes off! Only thing is his book is the story of his relationship with his ex Talia. Suddenly she’s back in the picture and Molly starts to questioning everything, past and present, truth and lies.

I’m looking forward to this one! It sounds different than the usual lovey dovey romance, and I do enjoy a little drama.

This one wasn’t a home-run for me (see what I did there?) I was pretty disappointed, it was incredibly slow with the only real excitement in the first chapter. There were some nice moments between Carlos and Nik but their conversations were just so dull, and the romantic scenes were so brief and rushed through. Considering it was a @reesesbookclubxhellosunshine selection I had higher expectations. 4/10⚾️⚾️⚾️

For a palette cleanser I picked up The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo because every review out there says it’s incredible, so onto the next!

AmsterDAMN Bookstores 😻

I’m currently on a work trip in Amsterdam and was able to sneak in a visit or two to the local English bookstores! Complete with cozy reading nook on the 4th floor.

Even the hotels here have been stunning old buildings perfect for curling up and reading the pile of books I brought with me.

My final hotel destination was a super modern and adorable cabin with floor to ceiling windows creating a perfect sunroom with sunlight streaming in. I don’t regret that most of my evenings here have been spent inside with a book in my hand, especially when they look like this.

My Favorite Half Night Stand by Christina Lauren 💛

Millie is just one of the guys with a close group of 4 best friends. All university professors, they have to find dates for a school event. Unlucky in Love, the group decide to try online dating together. Millie and Reid are the closest of the group and while trying out the online dating scene the two end up hooking up. Soon Millie is lying to Reid about more than her feelings and things start to get really out of hand.

I’m on a Christina Lauren kick! This is the third book that I have read by them, and while it was great, it wasn’t my favourite of theirs. It’s such a small thing, but I didn’t like the avatars of the characters during the texting parts because I like to picture how they look myself, and once the avatars popped up I had two different images in my head of what Millie and Reid look like. Otherwise this was a hilarious and easy read! 7/10 💛

Christina Lauren have done it again! I absolutely loved The Unhoneymooners. This destination love story is hilarious and sexy, plus it has the enemies to lovers trope, which is one of my faves. I read through it in a day because I couldn’t put it down! 🍍🌴

Olive and Ethan’s banter is so fun to read and Christina Lauren’s style is perfectly modern and relatable, they write like they’re one of your besties serving up the goss. 🍍🍍🍍🍍8/10

The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker🍃

Calla is a city girl who, after hearing of her father’s cancer diagnosis, travels to Alaska to see him for the first time in 24 years. Slowly she becomes torn between the life she’s used to in Toronto and a romance with Jonah a rugged Alaskan pilot.

Living in Toronto, it was really cool to actually read a Canadian author tell a story that takes place in Toronto, at least for the first few chapters. Once the story took off to Alaska it described such an incredible setting it almost felt like another character in the story, I’d love to visit one day.

The Simple Wild is a great read! I’m a sucker for a slow burn and the story was unique from the usual city girl meets countryman. It was unexpectedly heartwarming and emotional. 8/10 🍃

I adored this book from start to finish! I now understand the well deserved hype behind it. Both the characters are so lovable, from sweet and determined Stella to kind, understanding Michael. They each have their troubles but they figure it out together. Plus there are some awesome sex scenes that are suuuuuper steamy! 9/10 💙

Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover

Maybe Not, a novella by Colleen Hoover. This quick little read was inspired by the characters in Maybe Someday. It was interesting to see a little more into the relationship of Bridgette and Warren who seemed pretty unlikable in the first book. It was short but sweet with quite a few sex scenes. Now to read Maybe Now the final book in the Maybe series. 7/10.

THESE TWO!!!! Make Something Good Today by Ben and Erin Napier, is absolutely a romance with not only each other but a love affair with creativity. These two know how to take note of life’s little moments and celebrate them. I may be biased in that I’m a huge fan of them from their hit @hgtv show Home Town, but this book is basically a continuation of how inspiring they are on television. The back story of how they met is certifiably adorable. Reading this makes you want to get up and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on. 8/10.
